Today, Tuesday, October 10, 2023 is World Mental Health Day. Today, as in all days, take a moment to feel the emotions you’re experiencing. That’s all. It’s a small but powerful way to value your mental health. By valuing our mental health, we create energy to be present in our relationships and to engage in what is meaningful to each of us. The uncomfortable act of really feeling emotions all the way through can also be a small, nonviolent way to resist the pull toward apathy or hate. Emotions, even unpleasant or painful ones, can still produce love and compassion, and even peace.
